UPSTREET'S FALL DISCIPLESHIP GROUP IS NOW OPEN FOR REGISTRATION!

UpStreet's Discipleship Group is available for any 2nd-5th grade student who is interested in having a relationship with Jesus, recently placed their trust in Jesus, is ready for baptism, or has recently been baptized and wants to discover ways to deepen their faith.

This group setting provides:
-Intentional in-depth content geared to helping them understand their faith on a deeper level, how to share their faith, and how to grow in their faith.
-Ways to connect with others.
-A space to ask questions and dig deeper than time allows for on a Sunday morning.
-Time with Children's Director and other UpStreet leaders to establish a deeper connection.

The Goal of UpStreet's Discipleship Group is...
To create a safe space where kids will learn and ask questions about how to: KNOW the depths of their personal faith journey, confidently SHOW others and talk about what they believe, and continually GROW in their walk with God throughout their life.

Weekly Content: KNOW. SHOW. GROW.
August 13th, Week 1: KNOW.
Week 1 will be Jump Start, where your kids explore what they KNOW.
What do they believe about sin, about God, about themselves? If kids have already attended this,  they are welcome to attend again, or can simply start with week 2.
Time: This takes place at 10:30am and 12:30pm in the large group room.

August 20th, Week 2: SHOW
For week 2, we will focus on how we SHOW our faith: baptism and sharing our faith. We will talk about why we do baptism, what it means, and why it’s important. And, we will talk about Baptism Bash and all that it entails. If kids have already been a part of Baptism Bash, they can share a story or two of their experience and what baptism means to them. We will also talk about how to SHARE our faith with others confidently.
Time: this takes place during UpStreet both services - 9:15/11:15.
Kids check in and report upstairs where they will gather up and meet with Rachel during the UpStreet hour.

August 27th, Week 3: GROW
For week 3, we will focus in on how we GROW in our faith through reading the Bible, prayer, and community with others. This class will be centered on these three spiritual disciplines do help kids deepen in their faith. We want them to know that baptism isn’t the end of becoming a Christian, rather, it’s a lifestyle! Time: Takes place during UpStreet both services - 9:15/11:15.
Kids check in and report upstairs where they will gather up and meet with Rachel during the UpStreet hour.

To attend, please RSVP so I know to expect your child and can prep group materials. There will be snacks and waters provided each class.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What if my child is in Kindergarten or first Grade?
For the sake of content and conversation, we have designed this group to be at a level where kids are on a similar learning level (reading and writing will be a part of this group). If you would like your kindergartner or first grader to participate in a discipleship group, please click the "Sign Up" button and let the Children's Director know. If there are several K-1st sign ups, we will do another one designed just for them! Otherwise, they are invited to attend a later group.

What if I can't make all three weeks?
No problem! We will review each week's content at the beginning of group to catch everyone up. However, we do highly encourage attendance,  as part of this group is connecting with other kids their age.

Why is there an activity page to do at home?
We want kids to get into the practice of spending time with God during the week if they don't already do so. This will encourage that! Also, we want them to remember everything we discussed in group to be ready for the following week. These activities are simply a way for the content to remain fresh on their minds and to set them up best for the week ahead.

Will there be other groups?
Yes! Our plan is to do this more often, specifically the spring and fall.

What if my child wants to get baptized?
We do a baptism event once a year for all elementary kids who want to be baptized. This discipleship group will be the best way to get started with our baptism process as it gives our Children's Director one-on-one time with them and they get to hear about the baptism event this winter. Baptism Bash sign-ups will be available upon the conclusion of this group.

What if my child has already been baptized?
They are still welcome to attend! There will be a lot of time spent on sharing our faith and continually growing in our faith, so they will certainly benefit!
